Shadow is a one-to-one tour/performance inspired by the work of Sophie Calle, Vito Acconci and Francis Alÿs, in which the participant follows a stranger through the city. It was presented in Berlin at the B_Tour festival in June 2015, starting outside Neukölln Arcaden in Karl-Marx-Strasse.
Shadow begins with emailed instructions from us to the participant, including a meeting time and place, and a photograph of someone they have to follow and observe. It ends in another message from us; in between there is a journey, a conversation and a surprise.
